Position  Summary:

The Estimator prepares estimates from blueprints, specifications, and in-person measurements. The Estimator's function is to travel to the company's many locations and outside clients to obtain an exact measurement of the building and its features. The employee will have the natural ability to upsell items to outside clients, while staying focused completing measurements. The Estimator will need to keep accurate, up-to-date records that will promptly be provided to the Drafting Department.

The ideal candidate will be able to multitask effectively while under pressure and still have a high degree of attention to detail and discretion to handle a wide variety of tasks. The estimator will also need to have strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively at all times. The estimator will be communicating with personnel at all levels, as such, they will need to be able to interact professionally while still remaining resourceful and efficient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtains accurate and up-to-date measurements of spaces using software and measuring tools
  • Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepare detailed measurement estimates
  • Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of information
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimating figures
  • Provide basic editing of blueprints and layouts in Adobe Photoshop
  • Prepare presentation and meeting materials, reports and documents as needed
  • Ensure that our customers' needs and their expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented to the Sale Team
  • Works with project managers and drafters along with reviewing proposal specifications, blueprints, and drawings to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate
  • Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with trampoline park owners, park managers,  and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image
  • Schedule in-park visits for estimations  
  • Communicate with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, field supervisor and suppliers to provide accurate estimates as assigned
  • Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned
  • Prepares estimates for potential projects, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating
  • Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions
  • Participate in design/build pre-construction meetings
  • Identify constructability and logistics challenges and help provide solutions as needed
  • Arrange all aspects of travel; keep travel profile up-to-date, arrange flights, hotels, transportation and prepare all itineraries
  • Prepare and submit all expense reports on a timely basis
  • Research and support the implementation of special projects
  • Maintain current drawings for all clients
  • Upsell additional features to clients
  • Communicate new features and product details to clients
  • Maintain customer relationship with clients
  • Complete work on time and in a competitive manner
  • Assist with key projects
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to decipher and understand structural, civil drawings and specifications as well as site requirements and city codes/restrictions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Sound judgement and flexibility to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time
  • Flexibility to handle both routine and impromptu assignments with minimal supervision
  • Professional judgement and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field

Education and/or Experience:

A minimum of 2 years estimator or construction experience

Bachelor's Degree

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a variety of knowledge:

  • Microsoft office products
  • Gsuite console
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of typical estimating programs preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, and be able to lift arms above the head or bend over to attain measurements. Occasionally requires lifting a box up to 45 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a trampoline park and office environment. Travel will be expected to company locations for work 2-3 weeks each month.
