Position  Summary:

The Assistant Logistics Manager will help oversee receiving of equipment, assist in scheduling load appointments with trucking companies and verify load completion. They will interact with customers on a daily basis and will need to have a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask effectively while under pressure and still have a high degree of attention to detail and discretion to handle a wide variety of tasks. The logistics assistant manager will also need to have strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively at all times. The assistant manager will be communicating with personnel at all levels, as such, they will need to be able to interact professionally while still remaining resourceful and efficient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain forms related to shipping department.
  • Create and send customers invoices
  • Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of information
  • Manages any issues at customer receiving and ensures the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Receive and respond to customer inquiries and requests promptly and efficiently; offer customer alternatives to unresolved problems.
  • Research the best price and company for freight delivery while ensuring compliance of right truck type for the right load/route for primary and secondary transportation.
  • Communicate with suppliers about shipments, deadlines, and quality
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on carrier performance, reliability, contract compliance, loading times, and pick/shipping errors; provide other reporting as requested
  • Maintain up-to-date shipping schedules and provide accurate reports on a regular basis
  • Delivery window management by controlling shipping schedule while considering customer needs
  • Ensure all orders ship according to requested ship date while maintaining high levels of picking accuracy
  • Obtain and maintain proof of delivery for shipments along with tracking for a delivery in progress.
  • Ensuring packing list, loading, and cut off times are completed properly.
  • Monitor and execute lead time reduction by coordinating with transporter/ factory and warehouse teams
  • Ensuring all product operations are compliant to internal policies and external government regulations along with safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with managing day-to-day warehouse operation and inventory
  • Assist in maintaining optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while maximizing turns, minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges
  • Identify and report actual and potential logistical problems, assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Works directly with the Logistics Manager and supports them on key projects
  • Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with trampoline park owners, park managers,  and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image
  • Prepare and submit all expense reports on a timely basis
  • Complete work on time and in a competitive manner

  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Extensive knowledge of how to manage and make spreadsheets
  • Refined customer service and phone skills
  • Knowledge of Federal Express, UPS and Common Carrier (LTL).
  • Knowledge of all equipment necessary to run shipping department.
  • Knowledge of International Shipments (ability to obtain freight quotations for sales orders when deemed necessary).
  • Ability to think logically, critically, and work well under pressure  
  • Ability to work and problem solve resourcefully and independently
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Sound judgement and flexibility to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time
  • Flexibility to handle both routine and impromptu assignments with minimal supervision
  • Professional judgement and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field

Education and/or Experience:

A minimum of 2 years inventory control/supply chain experience

Bachelor's Degree

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a variety of knowledge:

  • Microsoft office products
  • Gsuite console
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
